Police Video: Mardi Gras Austin, TX 2001

The copy of the tape that I recieved from the Austin PD was extremely edited and had no audio. That's me with the dreadlocks getting man-handled by an officer that weighed nearly twice as much as I did. The camera pans left just as the blow to my left leg knocks me to the ground. I spent the night in jail for "failure to obey a lawful order." The order? "Get back." which came from a different officer that isn't even in the frame. The point is that police brutality happens to all kinds of people, not just minorities and criminals. Our justice system is not set up to work for the victims of such abuse of power. If I had ben assaulted by anyone other than a police officer, I would have had the ability to press charges and that person would have ended up spending some time in jail. In this case, I had no legal recourse other than filing a complaint. Given that the chief of police came out the Monday after the arrests and said the police did everything right, a fair investigation never happened. In my case and in the cases of the many other people injured the same night, our complaints were never taken seriously because it was Mardi Gras and many people (myself included) were intoxicated.

I don't see where you're getting that I changed my story. I also don't know where you get the idea that me struggling gives the police the "right to arrest me". Seems to me that your knowledge of the law is right on par with your knowledge of grammar and the English language.
