Dr. Shumeet Banerji Leadership of Financial Institutions: New Challenges in the Era of the State

Born in 1959. Shumeet Banerji received a Ph.D. from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

Before starting his career with Booz & Company, Shumeet Banerji was a member of the faculty of the Graduate School of Business at the University of Chicago. In 1992, Shumeet Banerji joined Booz & Companys Chicago office. Subsequently, he transferred to India, where he was a senior member of the firms marketing intensive group, serving clients in the fast moving consumer goods and retail industries. From 1996 to 2000, he co-founded and co-led the operations in India where Booz & Company established a strong number two position in the market. He then was appointed Managing Director of Booz & Companys European business, based in London. Currently, Shumeet Banerji is Chief Executive Officer of Booz & Company. Most recently, he has been focusing on helping government ministries and financial service institutions deal with the impact of changing demographics on their approach to long term savings and retirement provisions.
