In tastes tests most people can't tell the difference between expensive wine and swill. It's a running joke amongst wine experts. And I live in wine country. Most people, however, can the tell the difference between a Ford and a Ferrari, even if they are blind passengers.

Just admit that the guy was trying to impress everyone. And he didn't get much value for his dollar, unless Heather Graham marries him. But she probably thinks he's a douche.

If he does his spending in public, then the public has every right to laugh at his dumb ass. And you're not seriously comparing a $100,000 bottle of fizzy water to a luxury sports car, are you? A Ferrari would have value because it's made to a set of standards. The difference between cheap and expensive wine isn't there, and taste is purely subjective. And Warren Buffet drives a regular car.
