Indian Summer is an instrumental written by Annie Staninec

Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Zeum, SF, May 2004

Blind Willies performed a set before a San Francisco School of the Arts music/drama premiere, Hard Travelin', based on John Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath and Woody Guthrie's songs, adapted by Susan Stauter. Following the set, Alexei and Annie were troubadours accompanying the Joad family from Oklahoma's Dust Bowl to California's Depression Era migrant camps in the 1930s.

Alexei Wajchman: guitar
Annie Staninec: fiddle

Filmed by Dan Ryan.

  • Damn! Now thats what I call a SMOKIN' tune! Keep more coming please!

  • Wow really really great -- both of them. IMO they need to put a pickup in the git-fiddle!! He's making some great sounds that need to be heard.

This reminds me of Cape Breton style fiddle and guitar but they amp both insturments up there so they can match up the volumes just right. Stars***************
