  • I was the 1st MSC Refrigeration engineer, " Reefer ", when it was converting from Stromness to Saturn in 1983, great crew and lots of fun.

  • I was in Norfolk on the USNS Waccamaw the day she tied up and I remember helping to 'dispose' of their liquor supply!

  • my stepfather was on that ship for most of his sealift employment and i find it amazing that a ship this old spent less time in dry dock for repairs then most of the new ships can some one explain that his was on the new ship to replace it the Wall-E is what they call it and it has been in dry dock more since being built then the SATURN ever did in all 3 strikes of the Iraq war

  • Really really annoying music.

  • She was recently sunk as a live fire target in a SINKEX by the GHW Bush carrier group.

  • I was one the final crewmembers before her decommissioning in April of '09. I just got an article about it being sunken by other ships as part of a training exercise. I had some good times there. Only for six months as an IT, but good times none the less.

  • An ex Royal Navy ship brought from the UK in 83? glad she's still going

  • i decommissioned her. she was a cool old boat. i was on this ship when this video was taken, we were heading back from south America. we brought back 40 pallets of coke that was seized during anti-drug operations down in south America. i miss the Saturn.
