Arthur Rubinstein (1887-1982) is one of the most famous pianists of all time. Since he performed onstage right up to when he was 89 in 1976, we mostly remember his later years. But prewar recordings like this Berceuse of Chopin date back to 1932, when he was "only" 45 years old and technically at his prime. His fluid technique makes this Berceuse Op 57 ripple like water over a stone.... PS Pictures are selected from a holiday in Egypt 2011.
