  • Gary Busey pre brain injury, really deserved the Academy Award for best actor. He sang every song in that movie himself!

  • hey, it's Toad on bass

  • Buddy Holly and Elvis Presley and Jerry lee Lewis traveled together and performed regurly on the Louisianna Hayride try following that act!!!

  • FYI..Gary played in a buddy holly 'coverband' before he ever played this part. Believe it or not most of the vocals in this is him. he did a heluva job

  • Gary was Fantastic, as Buddy! He shouldhave gotten the Academy Award, He looked and sang Just like him!

  • Fantastic movie.

I'm amazed it isn't shown on cable.

  • Gaey Nailed this right in the forehead, nice guitar as well

  • @ShortTrackNews However, both had some great music. I just personally like Holly more. I liked his voice more, etc, but both He and Elvis each have their respective places in Music History.

  • @ShortTrackNews True, but the Beatles, Everly Brothers, Righteous Brothers, etc, all credit Buddy Holly with their start. It is a fun debate, but some things aren't debatable... such as, the Buddy Holly started what is now the standard 4 piece band. When I look at Elvis, I think of JFK... you know, no one was voting for JFK until the women saw him on tv.. so it was sex appeal indeed, but sex appeal doesn't equal talent, and Buddy Holly was a better writer, and all around musician. (IMO) :)

  • @omenwolfe We'll never really know, but it's fun to debate. I think it's ridiculous for anyone to say Elvis would have been a footnote. Holly himself has been quoted saying "None of this would have happened without Elvis". Elvis didn't have the vision that Holly did with music but could sing and had the looks, moves and sex appeal to get a crowd moving and to buy records. Did Holly even have a #1 record in the US? Again...fun to debate

  • @ShortTrackNews Not really... the History of Rock & Roll Museum has said themselves that if Buddy Holly would have been alive, that Elvis would have been a footnote in Music history. Elvis has a ton of number 1 hits, but mainly because they've been repackaged on different cd's and rereleased over and over...
