  • WskFAn sorry I erased your comment by accident . Here is what you wrote :

    Hallo treblekid,

I got allways the answers in the negative asking the represents of the choirs writing to allow filming.

Filming nevertheless nobody had anything against ! I think that contracts with the

    record firms are the reason...

  • I have never received a no , but then I never asked. Now I know in person quite a few choirmasters and they all seem to approve the videos. After all more publicity equals more CD sales + it always good to know that your talent is appreciated .

  • I decided to have a quick listen to Justorum anima as I will be singing this piece in about 2 hours time. Time to leave for the practice now !

  • Oh dear. What a laboured and dragging rendition. Trebles particularly flat at 0:39. and have a horrible glissando approach to the top note at 2:57. This is almost like a bad practice session rather than a true performance. The conductor or choirmaster really did let the standards slip here. It is a difficult piece but I would have expected better from a choir such as this.

  • beautifull rendition of this anthem wich is singed as offertory during the Holy Mass; it is in our "chorister missal" thats mean that we can sing it at every time since it was added in this choirbook (in 1960)

  • Ew, we sang these three motets last year. Beati is gorgeous but sort of pointlessly so, and this was far more so. I hated it. I immediately hijacked the text and wrote my own setting that was as thorny, subtextual, and dissonant as possible, and we ended up performing them in the same concert :-D

Stanford clearly knows his stuff, and he writes beautiful lines, but I just don't like his placidity and meaningless prettiness. Give me Britten or Beethoven any day. To each his own, I guess :-)

  • Well this was with my high school choir. and no none of them are online. It was the best year of my high school choir though. it was awesome.

  • I did two of the three motets. This one and beati quorum via. I fell inlove with his music like right away

  • Thanks . I have updated the clip info ( :

  • Simply amazing] the art of the choir music! Excelent performance!

  • Sure just add me as a friend at You Tube - the clip is in my account but set to private as I would like to have only the more complete and better clips publicly available as this will contribute to the publicity of your choir.

  • I attended just the one at the cathedral - front row too - but there was not sure if filming would be OK - which is why I only got a very short video clip ( 20- 30 seconds ) and 2-3 photos.

  • Excellent! You find the coolest choirs.
