@LukeSidler2005 I know of a guy that was standing by two others when this happened to them. He saw it and jumped. The other two didn't see it, and it sliced them in half.

as a gear dog on board the reagan(CVN76) this is what we fear every day we do flight ops. the sad part is i ran hooks and luv'd it for the rush. but they say mech failer maybe. or it could have been set to low for the wieght and or the trap count to high on the wire. and that 1 7/16 inch cable does not give way for no1. our little sayin we had never disrespect the cable. the day u do is the day u get hurt.
