SRI LANKAN HERO Maj. Gen .ret JANAKA eliminated by RAJAPAKSE

Lanka-e-News, October 07, 2008, 9.30 AM) Puttalam district United National Party (UNP) MP Palitha Range Bandara says that the statement of the Deputy Inspector General of Police K.P.P. Pathirana to state media that police was not informed of a function in the place the bomb attack took place, is a lie.
In the service note book of Anuradhapura Headquarters Inspector, under No: 4149/2008, dated October 05, there is a notice for Sergeant 2493 Udaya Kumara, Police Constable 61958 Bandara, Police Constable 54410 Wijesinghe, Police Constable 34825 Bandara and another official to be on duty at the declare opening of the UNP office at 6 AM. Except one police officer, all the others reported to duty there and Mr. Range Bandara says that the DIG deliberately lies in line with the need of the government.
At a press conference held in the official residence of the Opposition Leader, MP Palitha Range Bandara recalled that major General Janaka Perera initiated the commando and parachute units, fought jointly with generals Kobbekaduwa and Lucky Algama to liberate Jaffna, rescued Elephant Pass, killed around 300 terrorists to free Achchuveli, saved Welioya eliminating around 500 terrorists and led the battle to capture Mannar. He pointed that the judiciary also stated that he is a national asset that rendered a yeoman service in the war against terror. Mr. Range Bandara said the government that is directly responsible for the killing.

Charging that the infrastructure for the assassination was created by withdrawing security provided with Mr. Janaka Perera after the election, he said that the assassination was conducted with blessings of the government.

He further stated that the Supreme Court case against North Central Provincial Council Chief Minister Berty Premalal Disanayaka is also behind the killing and urged the public to fight with life against the anti-democratic acts of the government.

Would be good if you could back your accusation with factual evidence. Maj.Gen.Janka Perera is a Great War hero! He was killed by bloody LTTE. But you UNP never comment against LTTE. In 1993 LTTE kill Mr.Lalith Atulathmudali and they put the blame on President Pramadasa government, but after one year LTTE told that they kill Mr.Lalith. Few days back LTTE killed UNP Vauvnia chief organizer but UNP didnt speak about this LTTE War Mangos. We should unite and first defeat LTTE!

Janaka Perera was one of the best military leaders who fought the LTTE, in the same tradition as DIG Udugampola who fought the JVP in the late 80's. These are great men, much maligned politically.

By not condemning the LTTE for the barbaric act, Ranil continues to insult the great General even after his death. Blaming the government for a suicide attack carried out by the group with whom Ranil signed the Ceasefire Agreement (CFA) and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) not so long ago is highly suspicious.

Why Ranils is plotting Janaka against Karuna in order to create a rift between the SLA and TMVP?

This bond has been very successful and it is the wish of the LTTE that it collapses sometime soon.

Why Ranil lifted the ban on the LTTE in 2002 in spite of ardent promises not to do so barely two years after Lucky Algama was killed by the LTTE.By not condemning the LTTE for the barbaric act, Ranil continues to insult the great General even after his death.

There are at least four hardcore LTTE supporters in parliament sitting in the UNP

Openly ridiculing the cause Janaka fought for (for an unbroken time span of 35 years with complete dedication) by none other than Ranil's senior media spokesman who equated soldiers to asses

# complete disregard of Janaka's achievements. At no time did any UNP leader appreciated, recognized, talked about or even mentioned Janaka's military achievements in detail.

Aggravating circumstances include# he total absence of UNP MPs, high ranking official or at least a relative of them at the opening ceremony. How many MPs UNP got from the Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa districts? Why none was present at the time? sudden and mysterious hospital visits by a few UNPers just days before the incident pretending that they care about soldiers, total absence of pro-war stalwarts in the UNP which makes it the only national party not to have any.

Surely there is something very strange going on here. It is upto patriotic UNPers, if any, to put pressure on the UNP to openly and unreservedly condemn the LTTE for killing their very own Janaka Perera.
