Another point I'd like to make is that the "preachers" who propound this "positive confession" as a way to abundance...is that how they are getting their abundance? Or are they getting it from extorting if from the Christians under the guise of tithing? Don't even get me started on those who say you have to give your tithe to obtain healing.

You nailed it Sis. I too believe that this "abundance gospel"may have come about to counter the other false teaching...the "poverty gospel". But as is so often the case, the pendulum swings too far over and ends up in error once again, but at the other extreme. I've seen even well meaning people become victim to an over aggressive, even emotional attack on error but not waitng on the Lord's understanding, resulting in leading them to error at the other extreme of a matter.

Very thought provoking comments, Annette! You are helping to right the wrong that has misled so many new believers. I think the abundance gospel came about to balance the previous movement of the poverty gospel. That was equally perverse, implying that poverty would impress God and make you more holy. Neither of these gospels are biblical, they are flesh. 4 Gospels are enough for you and me!
