@thetraceur123 human recorded history dates back only about 5000 years. If you are to believe evolution, our earliest ancestors lived approx 4 million years ago. Modern humans, only about 200000 yrs ago. In cosmic time scales that is nothing. If intelligent life really did exist there would be no logical consensus to visit us. Like Dr. Kaku said, it would be like us compared to ants. I would like to think positive that there is life, even intelligent, out there.

I am a Christian, and am very interested in Science, I don't know of there is any life out there in the Universe, you can for example look at Drakes equation in a pessimistic mindset and come to the conclusion that life in the Milkyway galaxy is very improbable, and that life here on earth in our galaxy shouldn't even had happened due to the odds against life.
