@dagll absolutely. she knew exactly where the notes were and how to hit them. still does..although she can't hit nearly as many of them anymore.

I know what you mean.. but isn't it skillful that most of this performance does not follow the original melodic line and she simply, with her great musicianship, rearranges the line accordingly whilst, of course, payign attention to the harmony? Fantastic.

@paralunatic I think the credit on vocal arrangements should go to her mother tbh. If you listen to some of Cissy's songs the influence is apparent.
