This is my response to Felinoid's video, Think About a New Fursona. Here I state why I choose a chipmunk as my furry alter ego. Also I state that Felinoid would be find sticking with a cat as his fursona

You do have a point on there being a lot of Canines in the fandom, but perhaps it's becuse Dogs are man's best freind? I think thats why a lot of furs pick Dogs and such.

also, I wanted to ask for a clarification. Do you mean changing your current Fursona, or haveing more then one? I myself have many sub-sonas, to which I refer to as Chacters or The-Voices-In-My-Head, but I have the German Shepard as my main Fursona. That said, I should admit, most of my chacters are Rodents.

Many other furries have the same answer as to why there are so many canids in the fandom, so I agree. As for my furry alter ego, Tamias the chipmunk is an evolution of a character I have toyed with since high school. So he's going to be my furry alter ago for the foreseeable future. I've got a few others I may show at a later time though.

My fursona is a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever crossed with a border collie.

I chose a canine because they have always been a part of my life. Especially Border collies. I grew up around a border cross and i grew to love them so much that as a child i pretended to be a dog. Now i have found the furry fandom and have found others like me. Its not our fault we share a love for canines.

Although i really love birds also so.. perhaps a cross breed bird hybrid? ;3 lol

I agree there are a lot of Canines in the fandom, but there are also a lot of cats. I've never seen a chipmunk in the fandom before though. ^^

For a while my fursona was your typical Gray Wolf. I got tired of it after a while since I felt like just another face in the crowd. So I changed my fursona to a Dire Wolf (a species that went extinct thousands of years ago). Yes I'm still a canine but at least I think my character is a lot more original now.

mines half wolf half fox because i have a fox personality but appearence of a wolf. mines origanal though cus it wears a gas mask. havnt seen much furs with gasmasks

Yeah...a lot of people do canids x] I'll admit, I do. But growing up as a little kid, I always pretended to be a dog or a wolf or something. So I guess they just kind of suited me better :s But I love seeing unique animal fursonas :]

ALOT of furs how canines. I believe that you should choose a fursona that has the animal that resembles you the most. Mine's a lynx

Canids may be insanly common, but people can't help what their favourite animals are really. Mine is the fox, always has been since a child and always will be. Whether 10000000 other people have a fox fursona or not does not matter to me
