I just got the idea for this today and I went on youtube to see if anyone's done this with Cave Tetras before. Nice tank!

I did and these guys are fin shredders. Even to short finned fish. They ended up getting murdered when an asshole put bleach in my tank.......... Thankfully not my main tank but still. I'm sure they do fine with those bottom dwellers though, they never did bother the 4 dojos i had. They were in the same tank and are now dead as well.

Wow your cave tetra setup is stunning! I wish I had the funds to set up something like what you have but I can't right now. It is definitely on the to do list though.

The Mexican tetra or Blind Cave Fish (Astyanax mexicanus)

Growing to a maximum overall length of 12 cm (4.7 in), the Mexican tetra is of typical characin shape, with unremarkable, drab coloration. Its blind cave form, however, is notable for having no eyes and being albino, that is, completely devoid of pigmentation; it has a pinkish-white color to its body.
