The Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad (D&GVR) is now a tourist line, but in its heyday of operation it formed part of the mighty Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad (C&O), greenbrier Division. Today most of the 100 miles of trackbed have been converted to a cycle trail. The Durbin to Cass section was washed away in a flood in 1985 and was never replaced. The only useable section is the 5 miles betwwn Burbin and a halt at Hevner.
This film features a Climax locomotive built in 1910 and serveral coaches built in the 1920'2.
All the early morning shunting is captured, plus a whole run of the line. On the return journey we have shoots from the cab, lineside and from the coaches. We end with evening shunting back at Durbin. The complete 61 minute film is available from our online shop at
