This lovely remote property is located at 8,868 feet in altitude. The cabin is 1,440 square feet with a very open floor plan on both floors. The cabin is located in the center of Area 68 and sits on 40.82 beautiful acres which borders 1.8 million acres of the Rio Grande National Forest! The first floor of the cabin is wide open with a kitchen, dining area, utility room and bathroom with shower. The kitchen and dining area has a microwave, oven/stove and small refrigerator. A wood stove provides heat in the cabin and solar power and propane are used for lights and appliances. A cistern system supplies water to the cabin from a year-round spring. A lovely spiral staircase takes you to the loft which has an open sleeping area with a walk-in closet and bathroom with a claw-foot bath tub. The loft also has absolutely awesome views of the Sangres De Cristo Mountains! There are several trout streams in the area for fishing or you may choose to hike and explore an abandoned gold mine (Crystal Hill) which sits less than 1 mile from the cabin. A spring fed pond sits less than ¼ mile down from the cabin and ranges from 3 to 12 feet deep. World class elk, deer and antelope are abundant in the area which is a major elk winter ground. All furnishings and all appliances are included.
