European MPs have called for the Union to have a permanent seat at the UN Security Council. Critics of the initiative say that the EU rarely speaks with one voice and has enough problems at home to solve, without this. RT's Daniel Bushell has more from Brussels.

Forget about the EU on the security council, get rid of the UN dictatorship all together. Simply maintain diplomatic channels with other nations, it's as simple as that.

@Gary190tube < You are right; anyone having that "hot seat" would come under pressure to vote for the policies already set in motion. Perhaps, that's why India refused to take the seat in the 1950s, suggesting give it to China. Afterwards, China adopted one child policy !
