Taken in Wa - flatback sea turtle hatchling appearing for 1st run to ocean..
Depending on the tide and where it is - makes all the different to how long they have to run to get to ocean.. some only a short time frame - others can take up to 1/2hr..But they do have to try and miss the octopodes, seagulls, sea eagles and of course the reef sharks if they do get there...

  • yes, they are.. It all depends on where the tide is at the time of hatching to lenght to get to water's edge..I did time one and found that travelling from top of chamber to reef edge as sadly tide was still out - it took 9mins running over the sand..
