The Harvard Ambulatory MicroRobot, or HAMR for short, is a six-legged robot modeled after a cockroach. This video shows the motion of the "artificial muscles" (made from piezoelectric material) that drive the leg mechanism, and a prototype of the robot walking at different speeds.

The Harvard Microrobotics Lab is part of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS, seas.harvard.edu) at Harvard University, and a core member of the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering (wyss.harvard.edu).
