another nice messy experiment on Brainiac. Does a falling object continue to move at the same rate once it is released? Tested by smashing eggs on a lads head.

    when objects move at the same speed in reference to the same point, they act the same.

  • @zcustard That is untrue, the egg would still have hit the rider if it was thrown down. The point is the horizontal induced velocity from its carrier. As drag is negligible in this instance, the horizontal velocity of the egg remains relatively unchanged and lands on the rider's head.

    Probably. I guess it also wouldn't have worked if they stopped the trolley at the exact moment the egg left his hand
