Gorf on an unexpanded Commodore VIC 20 vintage home computer. Retro gaming.

This is not a review, walkthrough, playthrough, or demonstration of my playing ability.
It's simply a quick demonstration of the game so that anyone not familiar with these old games can see what it looks like.
It's also here so that I can embed it, along with most of the games in my collection, on my website (see link above).

Any opinions or comments I make regarding these games should largely be taken with a pinch of salt.
They are usually based on my first impressions after a very brief play.

Are you using an emulator for these videos? (VICE?) If so I have a couple of questions, well, just 1 really, but it's a bit long/intricate & in regards to Vic20 ROM/games types. If the videos are from a real Vic20, then my question is irrelevant. I will wait patiently for a reply. Thx

can vic20 games run on the C64? i just bought a C64 and don't know anything about compatibility

No, they're entirely different, with no backward compatibility.

Anyone remember that 3D maze game for the vic20? I thought it looked awesome then,lol.. How times change.

Yeah, SnapCraft316 is right. You got really lucky at 2:40. Great hit on the flag ship core! I was shocked really. After it hit you, you were done for otherwise.

30 years later and I still remember how to play. I was thinking, aim for the core, aim for the core. No, let the shot go all the way before shooting again. aim for the core, aim for the core. Then you got hit. NOOOOooooo!!!!???? what, you got it? YES!

@SteveBenway Awww, darn it. Thanks anyway though. I've been trying literally for years to find help relating to all the assorted Vic20 ROM files & running them. There are like.....prg, a00, 20, a20, 60, etc. Can't get'em & most .crt (cartridge files) to work, but I know they do. I just want to play Vic20 Donkey Kong & Pole Position. Oh well, I will keep slogging along in search of help. Again, for your swift response, thank you.

Gorf! Great game! When it was released, it was/IS awesome! Great (by the standards of the era) graphics, EXCELLENT/top 3 contender (if not the BEST) sound, 5 boards, 1 like Space Invaders, 1 like Galaxian, (both of which were more popular) cool controls, real cool cabinet. I always felt Gorf was slightly underrated. Popular, in it's own right, but eclipsed by games like Donkey Kong, Ms/Pacman, Frogger, etc. BTW, a friend/volunteer fireman, they have this game in the station lounge, hehehe.
