the answer is actually in the vid. but here is another way to see it. take an apple (personally I prefer a peach (esp a swat valley peach.. ummm yum).. cut it in half, now cut it into quarters, cut the four quarters in half again... you have now performed 3 symetry cuts.. each is triangular has only right angles and are equal to each other; you will also have 8. similarly take 3 rotations, each with 2 directions (i.e angular momemtum)and times them together (2x2x2=8). finally consume fruit :-)
