Bill Maher and his panel first discuss Herman Cain, eventually get to talking about the rest of the GOP candidates.

I was actually quite surprised at what he said about Ron Paul. Paul also got some applause from the audience. Overall, it was pretty good talk about some of the truths he says.

  • "stumbles on some truths..."???? Mr West please give the only legitimate candidate more credit than that.

  • @MirageScience tell your democratic friends that Ron Paul would leave abortion laws to the states. Abortion should not be the reason why you should not vote for Ron Paul

  • @JG129 Judging by her tone, I think she meant that the republican audience (not Ron Paul) likes the fact that America is an "empire in a good way".

  • this show is nuts...

  • @yurismir1 Hey, West probably agrees with Ron Paul on the 'all drugs should be legal' thing. Also, nice job being a dick by insinuating he isn't a doctor, really subtle.

  • @3rdEyeSpeaks You want him to praise and worship Ron Paul?

  • I think that "Dr." Cornel West has done too many drugs

  • @jgrover78 But he's not even referring to himself as such. Maybe he's just that humble and doesn't need titles to verify what he has accomplished. It's hard for others to call him Dr. when he is not even calling himself Dr.

  • @qbrown80 First of all, he began practicing in 1961 until he took office in Congress in 1976. Once he left Congress in 1984, he returned to his medical practice until returning to Congress in 1996. So, he's practiced during our lifetime. Should he still be called doctor? Well, he did graduate with a Doctorate in Medicine. If Cornel West can call himself a "Doctor" with a PhD in Philosophy, I'd say it's ok for people to give Ron Paul at least as much respect.

  • @saxster I like some things about Ron Paul, but populistic rigid constitutionalist can never win nationwide. This isn't the 1700's.

  • @jifwugi1990 No, you're correct about that. He wants to cut the EPA and DOA, but he doesn't want to privatize them, if that makes sense. Those responsibilities would still be handled by the state governments (unless the states wanted to privatize them, which is extremely unlikely in all but the most conservative states). He does want to slowly privatize social security though, over a period of a few decades.
