Here's a short clip of a fully restored Sd Kfz 171 Panther A. This is the Jacques Littlefield Panther that was featured on the "Tank Overhaul" TV series. Before restoration this tank spent 45 years submerged in a river in Poland. This Panther is powered by the original Maybach HL230 engine. We are having a launch party for the Panther. See www.mvtf.org for updates on how to attend this historic event and the chance to ride on the Panther as it makes its maiden voyage to the museum! Interior views are available here http://nonplused.org/panos/mvtf/

  • @TheRatedRThuglife77 The Panthers and Tigers devastated Allied armour forces, the M4 Sherman suffered staggering loss rates against these, this fact is often overlooked in Western history books. but of coarse tanks alone don't win a war.

  • @Ca1861 Its a special anti-magnetic coating called "Zimmerit" that protects the tank from magnetic mines and explosive charges.

  • Mind your head! Nice video

  • @doktorbimmer word

  • Yes, there is lots of info about it, its fact I'm certain of it.. the Sherman was by far the best 34 ton portable radio produced during WW2.

  • @EvilxMerlin The facts are that the US has never designed a world class tank.

  • @EvilxMerlin Your totally right there was no need to upgrade, no need at all... the lives of Allied tank crews were totally expendable

  • @giuseppeRraimondo The original comment was in response to the question "why didn't the Panther use the 88mm gun like the Jagdpanther?"

Answer; The turret of the Panther was not large enough, the Jagdpanther did not have a turret and allowed more space for the larger "88"

  • @giuseppeRraimondo Early in WW2 some tanks stored ready to use ammo in the turret, later in the war this practice was discouraged or banned out right due to the fire danger.

Modern Main Battle tanks like Leopard 2 and M1 Abrams have there primary ammo magazine inside the turret.
