You do realize that the Toyota Prius is an environmental disaster. 2nd hand toxic chemicals and excess waste sluge is produced at the factory. How do you think all those light weight materials and batteries are created? These batteries and materials realy can not be recycled ( like steel ). If there is a car crash/damage, yep, more nasty materials. Replacement batteries ( ~80,000 miles ), finally the disposal will put even more chemo-produced stuff in the ground.

Although they would never ticket a Toyota dealer even though the Land Cruiser gets about 11 mpg and the Sequoia gets about 12. But hey it's TOYOTA so it's ok.

Clearly, in your Hummer-enfused rage, you neglected to the see the humor and parody in this piece. Hummer isn't being unfairly targeted, it's just one example of several outrageously big, gas-guzzling cars that display the irrationality of the American consumer.
And, since GM's probably shutting down Hummer production, they won't be available much longer...so enjoy while you can!
