  • Actually, this dates from 1951, when Ethel Waters appeared as "Beulah" on TV, sponsored by Procter & Gamble's Oxydol and Dreft.

  • I used Oxydol for 10 years in the 1960s,always did a nice job on my clothes! Thanks for putting up the 1951 commercial!

  • Im SOLD!

  • AUTOMATIC WASHERS ARE BETTER!

  • Before automatic washers.

  • @movitmovit you think so, i think it all looks eradiated, mabey i've been playing to much fallout.

  • @TheTiglathpilesar I thought it smelled good, different, but good. Cheer smelled good too.

  • actually it smelled kinda funny to me

  • Amusing how P & G is selling one of its last soap powders while slamming "those no-rinse products" ... while Tide, in 1951, was claiming "Tide Washes Cleaner than ANY Soap WITHOUT RINSING!" (And you thought knocking the competition was a new thing!)

  • i like the box design.
