  • I wonder what his middle name is..

My name is Andrew York too except i play everything BUT guitar. I play piano, drums (main), and sing.

  • Wow! You're a complete musician! According to Wikipedia, he has no second name. You two should get together and play in a duet called "Andrew York & Andrew York" xD

    Thanks for the comment!

  • Very interesting piece. Like something on the silkroad, halfway from East and West.

  • My only wish is that this man gets a little more of the recognition he deserves.

  • I was searching a band called Numen, from basque country (black metal band), and i find this..and i dont regret..this is a real masterpiece..im lucky to heard this.....

  • doe anyone know where to find the score for this song? purchase i mean. thanks alot

  • he is soooooooo underrated!!

  • @topdog2328 I don't think disjointed dischord and dark melodies are Andy's thing really, its all very tonal with a few jazz chords and odd time sigs added for good measure, but you might want to check out a very inspirational piece for me The Usher Waltz by Nikita Koshkin thats got 'dark' in spades aswell as being quite quirky

  • does anybody know of any really dark or ominous sounding songs that Andrew York has?

  • maybe because there's so much tonal music, and melodies from diff pieces or songs accidentally have similarities.. that's 1 reason some profs want their students to compose atonal music.. but im not sure though.. im just a guy. btw, nice piece. =o

  • @bigmuso123 i just saw him tonight. He blew my mind. As a great composer and virtuoso. He played all originals except for the 3rd bach cello suite, and he played those with ease.

I am really impressed with his sense of musicality. and all the things that he picks up from modern day music, well, hey, nothing is COMPLETELY original anymore.

  • i have watched all the york clps, really , does anyone else out there think the music and compostitions to be somewhat ,how to say it, "wet" , abstract to the point of indulgence. There are nice moments, but i get this feeling of phrases in his music being borrowed or picked up elsewhere.

Im sure im going to get some negative responses but hey , youtube = opinion.

  • Can be anything better?

  • Totally agree with you. I've just known about him (I play guitar since 7 years) and I wonder how I havn't met him before, he's awesome. Great compositions, great playing and feeling.
