In 1949 you were lucky to have a 10" screen TV.

What a fun episode from early television! I enjoyed this. Thanks!

I wonder how many more kinnie films of Mr.Wynn's tv shows still exsists?

You're welcome, 'Doni'. Most of us take live national TV broadcasts for granted today, and virtually everyone isn't aware of the fact that, in the late '40s (with network TV in its infancy), about half of the United States could see a live telecast originating from one side of the country {the Midwest was the "boundary line"}....and there weren't that many stations, independent or network affiliates, on the air, either!
Carmen must have been great fun. Thanks for posting. Love her

She sure was. From the time artists were either good or not, talentful or not, charismatic or not. No "special arrangements", no visual & sound effect, no corrective edition between. As for this presentation, specifically, a true live show. I adore Carmen. Admiration extended to Ed Wynn. Thanks for leaving your comment and best wishes from Brazil.

The reason this was not seen "live", coast-to-coast, was because the coaxial cable that enabled live television to be seen simultaneously on East and West Coasts was not completed until September 1951. Until then, live shows originating from the West (or East) had to "kinnied" and mailed to affiliates on the opposite side of the U.S., usually telecast as long as six weeks after the original broadcast, depending on when the local station got the film...
