On the beautiful afternoon of January 16th, 2010, I got a heads-up from a friend regarding an excellent set of power on CSX train S439-16. A duo of veteran EMD locomotives was serving as the muscle for the freight, and I knew that would be something definitely worth seeing. So, I raced to my favorite Trenton Line location, Woodbourne Station. Other railfans informed me that I wouldn't be seeing S439 for some time, as CSX had 4 other trains ready to run up the Trenton Line. In this video, you'll see everything from empty trash trains powered by lone SD40's, to massive mixed frieights struggling to get on the move. Loud and hard-working EMD 645 and 710 prime movers are displayed during this trip, as well as some classic GE chugging for the GE fan.

Rare B&O Hopper (Supposedly 1 of only around 30 in existence/service)

  • That's impressive seeing a Pullman-standard Chessie hopper. It seems the ACF Centerflow hoppers are fairly common still, but those Pullmans are hard to come by, and even more rare than those are the cylindrical hoppers and GATX airslide hoppers still In Chessie paint. Great video all around.

  • Whats up man great vid its neat knowing where & when their coming & going to I,ve sat 8hrs and seen 3 trains off scotch rd ewing past septa though thanks Brendan Jackson NJ

  • Hey I seen a covered hopper in chessie colors, amazing that after all these years you can still see the colors of past flags that csx absorbed!

  • Awesome, looks like you got all River Liners except one. I wish they threw EMD's out my way, Wednesday night was widecab city out in the Boston area.

  • Excellent video! I caught that down in DE, but it was dark by the time it finally made it there.

  • This is way better than 5 stars.

  • Excellent video, you do some nice work.
