  • Hey man, I wanna do that as well; I got 2 strat body's laying around.

But you got 2x a 6 string ? what are the good sides of this? cause normally they are 1x 6 string 1 x 12 string.

Another question, how did you do the wiring. you can switch between both guitars?

  • i have to re-upload this video because the audio got cut out due to some copyright stuff. But if the audio was there, i say in the vid that i bought an electric 12 string set of strings, and i put the lower octave on the bottom, and the upper octave on the top neck. i made a vid explaining how its wired but i should just draw up a diagram and post it on my profile. Unfortunately i wont be able to do that untill atleast november around thanksgiving, im at college.

  • what do thay use for guitar paint?

  • well, you can use pretty much anything, id just stay away from polyeurethane because it ruins the sound and doesnt let the wood breathe

  • wow, its cool but sucks at same time... whats the point of 2 six strings

  • the upper neck is an octave higher than the lower neck

  • @GuitarMats u can buy a 12 string neck off ebay for 55 gbp with 10 gbp to ship to mainland u.k. its from ireland

  • WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE SONG & ARTIST PLAYING IN THE BACKGROUND? IT'S NOT WAR INSIDE MY HEAD.

  • heres an idea man

you seem like a zeppelin fan...

you can do one in standard tuning

and another in DADGAD (tuning for Kashmir, White Summer, Etc.)

    Nice Job ROCK ON!!

  • my heart droped when you cut those guitars in half

but the way you made the double, I feel so much better

  • @acdchiway2hell It would be very difficult to do an acoustic double neck. The brace pattern on the top would be so wierd and precise so it could handle the pull of the strings (cedar and spruce are very weak woods). It has been done but it would take a while to draw up a brace pattern that wouldn't kill the tone.

  • @randomjunkguy Honestly I would rather have two six string necks or a seven and a six. I don't think an electric should have a 12 string neck but that's just my opinion. When I build double necks for my customers I charge extra is they want a 12 all mine come standard with 2 6 strings or 1 6 and 1 seven. Mine is 2 6 strings so I can tune to C sharp and drop C.

  • Absolutely -- two different tunings. Look up Acoustic Eidelon and watch Joe play both necks at the same time! It's awesome.

  • Awesome. Several great alternate tunings for one of the necks is open G for STones songs and the Frank Gambale tuning for an interesting approach to a different keys using traditional chord shapes.

  • can u do 1 with a acoustic guitar

  • Nice video mate, very usefull!
