Now its time for some DECAPITATED!! This is the first cover on YouTube of "The Eye Of Horus" off the album The First Dammned (its also on Winds of Creation, I used The First Dammned version because it was in e-standard tuning. Also, its a bit faster than the Winds Of Creation version. Otherwise no major difference really...)

Only thing thats missing is the solo...couldnt really make out much of it.....Took me a while to figure out this song. I figured it out by ear, so it might not be 100% perfect, but its pretty accurate. I did tab out THE WHOLE SONG in guitar pro, and I uploaded it to ultimate-guitar.com (see below for link). It has guitar AND drum tracks which can be used as backing tracks. Both guitar and drum tracks are almost perfect I think.

Equipment used:

Jackosn King-V KV2
Peavey 5150 Head
Marshall AVT50 speaker as a temporary cab

  • Nice cover, just wondering if you've got an tips for open tremolo picking, my arm always seizes up at some point, and I tend catch other strings at as well. Cheers.

  • @MutedChord thanks! start building your stamina by doing exercises, one I liked to do usually to warm up is play straight quarter notes, alternate picking for 2 bars, and then for the next 2 bars straight eighth notes, and then back to quarters, and then 8ths and so on. do that with a metronome starting at a lower speed, and concentrate on staying in time and only hitting the string you are meaning to hit. once you're comfortable with that increase the speed by 10bpm or something and do it again

  • @MutedChord and for stamina, do the same thing, again concentrate on keeping it clear an on time, and do it until you feel your forearm burning and you can't really play it constantly anymore. then take a rest, up the speed and do it again. etc. juts do that everyday and you'll build up stamina and be able to hold the tremolo picking for much longer :)

  • that was just great man.

hey I've got a question the first damned (demo) was recorded in E-standard tuning??

and what about the others albums???

I hope you can answer me.

you should play the first damned (song) from the demo. It greatest song.

    keep it up.

  • @yportill hey sorry for the late reply! yeah the first damned was E-standard, then winds of creation and nihility are D-standard, and then the negation is C# standard I'm pretty sure, and I THINK organic hallucinosis is C# aswell, not 100% sure on that one though!

  • sounds perfect to me

  • real sloppy

    nice try tho

  • Your shredding sounds like there is a hint of hesitation or extra tension in your wrist... it's like you almost have the timing down but its lacking something.. other than that it sounds awesome!! I think I should go learn this song, been a while since I've hit up the decapitated :)

  • @NiKsiN7 Cheers mate, really appreciate the help.

  • horns dude, excellent job
