Computer not connecting to cable modem adsl ethernet help tutorial how to troubleshoot

Is your computer not connecting to your modem? Are you sure your internet works but the ethernet is not working? This video is for you.

I cannot help you if:
-Your lights on your modem are not working (Call your ISP)
-Your modem cannot connect to the internet (Call your ISP)
-Your cables are not working (Call your ISP)


I can help if you:
-Your modem is working but your computer cannot connect to the modem/ethernet

Before you try this please shut down, turn off your modem, make sure all the plugs are working, pull them out and put them back in, turn your computer on and the modem.

If you have tried this tutorial a few times and have checked your cables are working, and have not had any success, please call your ISP. If they cannot solve it, call a private computer technician.

@Apsonboy1 You should try restarting everything (The power and re plugging the cables in) if that doesn't work then the problem may be else where, you'd really need to elaborate :/

what do we do if cmd says request could not find? and what if we dont have that thing under metwork adapters?

my connection is wired so either you are connecting or its a red X through the little icon on the bottom right. i am able to connect to the internet on any computer except mine out of nowhere. also a couple days before that, the computer made a weird sound and froze and turned itself off. i know its not my ethernet cable. also my pc freezes and i cant do anything for more than 2 min. help please!!! if you need more info please PM me
