Had this same Hendrix vs. Eddie conversation-debate years back.
Hendrix combined different styles, was an innovator, had strong compositional skills.
Ed on the other hand brought an emotionally compressed fury and equally innovative set of material.
Can't see either as lesser or better than the other. Can see, had he lived longer, Hendrix hearing Eruption and going "Holy fckng sht".

@NickMass35 But are they selling out? Last tour I saw them they upgraded bowl seats to about 3/4ths of the floor seats. I sat right next to a group of people that paid $90 more for their seat than I did. Talk about pissed off fans.

@MrVHWolf Fast forward to February and it's so true. New album rocks. Van Halen playing arenas and where is chickenfoot?

@DukeStarbuckle this is the most insightful comment aboout this cool clip! I get that all the time"Why don't you play the whole song???", I first saw Van Halen in 78 in Spokane loved them ever since! Been playin for a few years. this clip and your comments give me some hope as a player, I think there are to many negative comments, besides even if this isn't the master it pretty damn cool! thanks

it's shook hands not shaked.

This sounds more like For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge-era. Riff (thought I heard a bit of "Judgement Day" in there)
and tone-wise. Soldano all the way if you ask me. Correction. That's "House of Pain", innit?

Also, I think it would be more productive to support Van Halen than to put down Chickenfoot. They just want to play music.
I wish VHND would be a true VH site and quit with Chickenfoot coverage.
ATTN VHND - nobody gives shit about Chickenfoot. Start a Chickenfoot News Desk and see how many people visit.
'nuff said.

Eddie Van Halen,Michael Schenker, Ritchie Blackmore,Alex Lifeson, and Tommy Bolin are my favorite guitarists ever.I've seen them all,and i'll never forget seeing them for the first time.each of them blew me away, especially Eddie. When i first heard VH-1 i thought there's no way anyone can be this good,it must have been full of overdubs. When i went to see Van Halen live,Ed proved to everyone at Maple Leaf Gardens just how great he really was.
