@emosh73 yes we do not support anyone who kill innocents but they were only following the orders. What would you do if you were a soldier in Nazi army? You would die you if you didnt obey. And most of them were fighting for their country, not for hitler. Even farmers, peasants, women and childen were at war. How cruel that is! National socialism is a good ideology but hitler turned it into racism. This was his biggest mistake which made him lose the war

schluss mit den schuldzuweisungen! der krieg war für alle schrecklich und die deutsche FÜHRUNG begann ihn, nur die kleinen leute mussten dafür bitter verrecken, während der generalstab tee trank und armeen verschob. auf allen seiten war das so

More than 150 days of ceaseless carnage. No engagement in the whole war can even begin to compare to Stalingrad. Constant comparison between the western and eastern front make me laugh. Where the western front in scope and method of conducting warfare was a skirmish compared to just one weeks fighting in any of the mayor eastern front engagements. This movie more than any depicted the scale of horrors that unfolded in the USSR

That's the real face of war...compare this to any american 2.WW movie...the people in the US won't ever understand, that war isn't a game and not about "heroes" or whatever, until their own cities get bombed to shit, their people have to huddle up like rats in terror and live of dead horse cadavers etc. ...they never experienced war as the whole of europe did, that's the only reason a whole people could be so supportive of fucking WAR.

der wohl beste deutsche filmbeitrag zum thema Stalingrad und zweiter weltkrieg. da können nurnoch das boot und der untergang mithalten sonst nichts. zumal hier die deutschen, anders als in den amerikanischen propagandascheiß, nicht nur als mörder und bestien abgestempelt werden. bei dem film bekomm ich eine gänsehaut und kann sehr gut nachvollziehen wie es damals gewesen sein muss: grauenvoll, für beide seiten. beten wir das es nie wieder zu derartigen auseinandersetzungen kommt.
