Tibet has been a province of China for nearly 800 years and,in the past 50 years,the communists have invested resources to develop the region from its feudal roots and increase prosperity.there is no genocide,torture or any other kind of human rights abuse going on there,Tibatans can practise Buddlhism,teach their own language and adhere to their own culture freely,even China's controversial one-child policy does not apply to ethnic minorities such as Tibetans.
the current violence in the area began with an unlawful uprising from a separatist clique,which the Chinese government is simply trying to quell in order to return stability to the region.
westerners need to wake up to the distortion and inaccuracies the war-mongering media and politicians have made of the Tibet issue.so much media focus has been given to the pro-Tibet campaigns-it's time people heard the other side of the story.
