Filipino Family

Leeward CC Philippine Studies Program presents a panel discussion entitled, "The Filipino Family: Intergenerational Transitions." This panel presentation explores and analyzes some changes in this basic social and cultural institution in Philippine society over time. The focus will be two generational periods: the pre-World War II era, popularly referred to as "peace time" in the Philippines, and the postwar period, which saw the rise of a new generation and new opportunities that gradually led to profound changes in the structure, values and socio-economic mobility of the Filipino family.
