Highland Superstores ad 1988

My guess is that this chain didn't last too much longer after this ad. Don't know the history, so feel free to comment. Anyway, it's interesting to see when these sort of ads pop up in the collection.

I like how that cd player is "3 beam" at that time allmost all home cd players where 3 beam, like advertising that a car has wheels as a feature. I whent to a few of the highland stores when they whent out in 1993, Fretter followed soon after. Sad thing about wired remotes is they could have still gone wireless, i have a color tv from 1961 that has a wireless remote

The first VCR my dad ever bought had a wire! He arranged the living room so it could hang on a hook next to his recliner. Instead of fighting over the remote when we were kids, we fought over who got to sit in the chair near the remote!
