  • I can not for the life of me imagine why someone would have oboists play the flute parts in this piece. It would have been better if the parts weren't played at all. With flutists playing the part, the musical idea takes on a spellbinding luminosity. With oboists, it sounds almost comical.

    Disregarding the oboists, it was a wonderful performance; the tone of the singers was quite beautiful.
