A lot of people in Washington forget Michigan is a huge border state. With all the movement across the border comes the opportunity for bad people and bad things, so we have to secure the border. We have to have more inspections, but it has to be timely so it doesn't affect our commerce. When somebody says, 'how do you feel about illegal immigration?' I'm a twenty-year lawman, anything that starts with illegal, I'm gonna be against. We need to create a system that works and it's not there.
