I got to see Lew and the band when they played the Civic Auditorium in Portland, OR in '81. They played acoustic with only a mic on the bass and piano. Great stuff.
Oh, and without a mic Lew was free to travel more.

Another unbelievable solo by Lew. It was an honor to talk to him a little bit at the AQ and get his spin on things. By the way Mosaic has released a 3 CD set of the big band. It covers their 5 studio albums from '74-'77. Fantastic stuff!
