César Franck - Prélude, Fugue et Variation Op. 18 for harmonium & piano duo

It is a little known fact that Franck's famous "Prelude, Fugue et Variation, Op.18", was originally written for harmonium & piano duo (1862). Franck then transcribed it for organ, and it was later re-transcribed for solo piano.

Waarom niet een vleugel uit midden 19e eeuw genomen? Nu is de balans een beetje zoek. Bovendien kleuren de beide instrumenten niet bij elkaar.

Unbelievable.

I thought I was the only one in the world who had purchased the cd and got to know the original, so rare it is, and here's even a video of it !

If I'm not mistaken the cd version is "drier" (an older piano ?) more "objective", more austere and therefore more powerful. In any case this is profound and unique. Thanks for loading.

Vind juist deze combinatie mooi! En vooral de tempo, weinig spelen op de goeie tempo, het is meestal te langzaam of te snel. Dit is echt de mooiste interpretatie die ik tot nu toe heb gezien. I enjoyed.
