David Brooks On Why McCain Just Had To Run Negative Ads

David Brooks on Face the Nation explaining why poor media attention deprived John McCain just haaddd to run those negative ads. He just had no choice since the media was too busy paying attention to Obama. Never mind that seventy some percent of that coverage itself was negative. Never mind that they were ignoring McCain because he's a walking gaffe machine. No this was the only way for McCain, who has the media over at his house for barbeques could get any attention. I'd like to know what Brooks has been smoking.

If you are an American Republican viewing this clip on YouTube, Brooks is talking down to "Americans" in general, and the Republican base, specifically. As others have noted, he speaks as if it is inconceivable difficult to find any information on Obama, anywhere, as if the internet is foreign to McCain's base.
