@cantthinkofaname97 yes pee pussycat :)

@cantthinkofaname97 Circe is a minor goddess of magic (or sometimes a nymph, witch, enchantress or sorceress). It depends on which translation you read.
-
@helencheddar No she is a goddess. That is why, in the book, when she promises no more witchcraft, she has to keep it, because it is a promise of a god. Learn your shit, you donkey plugging ass butler.

I always wondered, what is the true meaning behind this: a woman turning men into animals? In the Odyssey it´s lions, wolves & pigs, all are tamed.
I think it is: women like men being strong & smart; still, they try to tame them. But as soon as they have accomplished that, they lose interest. Hence the best way of gaining or keeping a woman´s respect & affection is: stay strong & smart and don´t let yourself being tamed.
Odysseus is the only man she can´t tame; hence she falls in love with him.

@BoneBeast hahaha you wrote that in an exam and they gave you an A? wow cool :)
i read the Ilaid & Odyssey and found that most stories, esp. in the Odyssey, have a deeper meaning beyond the obvious: the Cyclops, Scylla & Charybdis, Circe, Calypso, Nausicaa etc.: they are all metaphors for hardships, difficult situations etc. & how ppl deal with those. Odysseus uses courage, wits, charisma, survival instinct etc.: this way he masters every situation.
these stories teach lessons of life :)
