Is there some reason Americans cannot say "second"? It always comes out as "seccut". It's the same with "didn't" (ditten) "wouldn't (wootten), "couldn't" (cootten) etc. Disgusting abuse of the Queen's English.

i feel bad for buying the d3100

@057Spy I also recommend looking at the Canon T2i and the T3i.

@TheSnapChick Cheers, definitely want a camera I can build on so D5100 it is.
great video! I already have the 3100, and I'm really wanting the V1 so this was a great way to compare the two. I work at a camera store and I actually brought home a V1 tonight to play with ;-). I agree that the limited menu controls of the V1 are kind of a bummer, but I think I would get over that pretty quick considering the fabulous photo quality I seem the be getting out of the V1... I'm pretty sure one will become mine in the near future ;-)

@rarendt74 Agreed. Solid image quality compensates for a few other shortcomings :)

Fantastic video snapchick! Recently decided to finally make the jump to DSLR, had my heart set on the D3100 only to learn of the current NIKON stock situation, would you still recommend the V1 over say a D5100?

@057Spy If you intend on building a larger system, go with the D5100. If you don't see yourself buying more than a lens or two and want something that's smaller to carry, go with the V1.
