I've been asking Data Robotics for a Pro version of Drobo since they released their original Drobo product. I wasn't the only one. Small businesses, editors and photographers have been asking, and today the Drobo Pro is released. It's rackmountable, has Gigabit Ethernet, and holds 8 SATA drives of any type or size. The Media Mover is a USB gadget for your DVR that transcodes video on the go, so you can carry the show you're watching with you as you move around the house. Real Networks was sued and ordered to stop selling RealDVD, which allows you to store digital copies of the DVDs you own on up to 5 PCs. They're going into court April 24th to fight for your rights. dam...came on to get a heads up on the Drobo pro and all I could think is "splendid bosoms"....bad thing is, I totally mean no disrespect...sigh...guys like me eh?

Not sure what your issue is with speed as I have a drobo v1 and v2, and a droboshare, and on both I can stream ripped Blu-Ray .iso iamges accros 1Gb LAn with no slow down at all.

This thing is pointless, it's really slow, a LaCie Raid is twice as fast for cheaper. And the Gspeed from g-technology is almost FOUR times faster. I never understood the love for the Drobo. The previous version was a joke at being USB only and this new one is uber slow, especially considering the price ?!
