Giant Prawn

South Texas Giant Long Claw River Prawn known as Langostino in spanish it's actually closely related to shrimp more so than Lobsters or Crawfish.. but it tasted just like crawfish.

@dunchue Cherrabin? Cherropin, Prawn, Krafta you can name according to your country or region even, cause even a whale is not a whale in other countries. But here in south texas it is a Prawn

Wow interesting name. Hello mate! A marine biologist told me it's scientific name is Macrobrachium carcinus(go figure) and I've noticed there are many like species all over the world. Thanks for sharing your info on this interesting creature Dave!

Yeah it's funny because I didn't even remember seeing the vid.

But now that I see it, it is a Macrobrachium Carcinus.

They are found all over the coast of Texas.

I live in Mass where I have never been lucky to see a Macrobrachium Carcinus on our shores.

Would love to tho if I had a chance.

In the meantime, I'll just keep watching the seals and jellyfish that permeate my shores.

@Metakrom The format of the video might of been "oddballed". Just for future reference, I like run my videos through a video editing program like Windows Movie Maker or Sony Vegas 9 which can re-format the video into a more reliable file that YouTube can work with.

@ElectricShark I found it in South Texas and I've looked up the name which had "Giant Long Claw River Prawn" in it so that is what it is to me! You are wrong with resenbergii because all the searches i've done for rosenbergii don't even come close to looking like the one i caught! Their claws are too thin! Now Macrobrachium Carcinus results are more accurate, so much for trying to correct me Mr. know it all!

@psycobillysutter If you're referring to the quality, I tried uploading the HD video i had of the prawn there but it kept failing then i selected an option that changed the resolution and the result is what you see! I didn't like it myself because the HD is great compared to this but that is youtube when it won't cooperate.
