    Technically, it is undefined. But in this instance, the line is defined and we are approaching from the left. So, in this case it would be infinity.

    Although you should probably just write down what your teacher wants you to write for that entry.

    The technical calculus way of stating this is:

    The limit as theta approaches 90 degrees from the left of tan of theta is infinity.

  • tangent of 90 would be infinity because if you think of an abstract triangle with the angle of 90º looking up, it would not meet the other side because it is straight up.
