ive been thinking of joining the army, when i leave school i want to have a really good job, not like an average job like in an office or something but a job that is really amazing but the fear of dying and injury from an IED is holding me back

I've passed selection with A grade and will be joining the royal welsh infantry in a few months from now. I can't wait and the infantry is a brilliant place to start if you're looking to move on to special forces.

@Ellisfitz1995 I done this for 6 years and if you got fears or your scared of ieds now before you have gone there and seen what they can do to people I suggest this is not the right career path for you

80 to 90 percent of people aren't capable of this job. Some only realize this when they are deployed. I have heard stories about people on there first assignment and they could not handle the fear and were shaking so bad they could not even aim and hold there weapon steady. only about 20 percent of those who join make it in this game. for most it is too much and the fear gets to them. any intelligent person would admit the fear in this job is too much for most
