After a 9 hour 19 minute flight from Dallas/Fort Worth, American Airlines flight AA80 lands on runway 9L at Heathrow. This video captures the last three minutes or so of the flight and includes the usual after landing announcements and views of the control tower and a parked Qantas A380. The aircraft is one of the airline's few 767s with winglets.

Check my other videos to see an American Airlines 767 landing on 27R in July 2009, also arriving from Dallas.

Apologies for the quality.

  • did you have personal screens?

  • @TransformingStudiosX Unfortunately not, no. I have flown on two American 767-300ERs and neither had personal screens. I don't think any of their 767s have them in economy class.

  • What? The announcements are automated?

  • @5233andy Yes, but the actual "Welcome to.." announcement is a real person. The automated announcement is non-specific information, telling passengers to remain seated etc.

  • How many 767 winglets leave DFW a day for heathrow? are they all winglets?

  • @wizzair1313 There are currently only two American Airlines departures from Dallas to London each day, with one of them being a 767 and the other a 777. It's hit or miss as to whether the 767 has winglets or not though.

Unfortunately, this flight - AA80 - appears not to be operating right now. It might be a seasonal flight or it could have been withdrawn altogether.

  • what seat were u in?

  • Took this same flight in July this year, bit bumpy over the Atlantic and on landing, but on the whole, good. Brings it all back.

On a side note, the 767 I flew on had winglets too, wonder if this was the exact same plane?

  • @mikey0118 Do you think that American airlines may put PTV's into their 767's? Most other airlines who have 767's have em..e.g.Lan, Delta, Thompsonfly and Condor. Just makes the flight all the better and the time pass by quicker..Great video btw :-)

  • @mikey0118 Ok, thanks for the clarification. I've typically flown european carriers who are far less strict regarding the use of camera in flight, such as British Airways or Lufthansa. Also, I was under the impression your flight began in Dallas where British Airways flies 777's to Heathrow. Once again, thanks for clearing that up. It's a great video by the way
